1098 for every child

Published by arthi at 8:54 am under Children Edit This

Are you scared to report your abused child’s condition or don’t know where to report. Then dial 1098. Its a nationwide toll free number launched by Childline India Foundation which promises help to abused children and street children. It had started as a small step only for helping out street children in Mumbai by Jeroo Billimoria. After she started getting many calls for help in her personal phone she decided to get a team and get down to work an then with lots of effort obtained a tool free number for children in need.

I have nothing to do with this organisation but just like any other Indian I am proud of the efforts taken by this team. While so many of us just sit and watch with mere sadness and pity, some people have the courage to wake up and take a step towards development. I admire the efforts it must have taken for this people to launch a team across 83 cities in India. Taking a lesson from this example we all can do something for the child whom we see selling flowers at traffic signal everyday. they have the right to education, health and every other facilities and above all a safe CHILDHOOD like others.

Just like I had said that even a small contribution matters whether its small or big. We all can’t be Jeroo Billimoria but we can help in our own way. May be providing free education to a slum child was never your ides but why not try it out during those party hours. If you are educated enough to enter a night club you surely have the education to teach the primary requirements for a person to be called learned in free for atleast a day a week. Try it out. Meanwhile spread the awareness of the toll free number for among people so that any child n danger can get help. Having help is not as difficult as getting it.

This is an interesting article. I don’t know any children who are being abused, but this is good information to know.
