Mumbai Attacks
The latest Mumbai attacks on 26th November awoke the nation to the ugly face of flourishing terrorism in Asia. The aftermath of these attacks are serious and we as individuals now have to question about how secure we are in our country. Home ministry saw changes of power as Shivraj Patil was asked to move aside by the Congress authorities and Chidambaram took up the responsibilities. But the question still haunts us.
- Why did nobody notice when a boat full of crew got killed and replaced by terrorists? Where were are navy?
- Why was the several warning reports to the Home ministry prior to the attacks neglected?
- Why did the officers standing up for their country wear backdated and malfunctioning bullet-proof jackets?
- The NSG and the Army commandos requested for a site-map for their operation but why did it take so long for the responsible authorities to supply them?
And last but most important,
- Why were the media people not punished or questioned for their irresponsible telecast of highly confidential commando movements around Taj as “Breaking New”?
Its the right of media to be anywhere in order to provide news but when such an important commando mission was going on why were the media people allowed to telecast them on national channels which were easily viewable by the terrorists indie the Taj? I am a big fan of the suddenly growing news channels in India and of reporter Miss Barkha especially. Still such a callous behavior on the part of Indian media was not expected and somebody must be questionable for these. It cost us lives of many more hostages and our brave soldiers.

This is a very well written article. I didn’t know all of this was going on.
